Ancient Greek Art
In ancient Greece there were 4 different periods. The first period of there art periods was called the geometric. The geometric period occurred during the 8th century B.C. the main type of art they created in this period was ceramics. there ceramics were very large scaled and they decorated the ceramics with repeated angular patterns. The next period was called the Archaic which occurred during 700-500 B.C. The main art that they created during this time was vase painting and creating sculptures. When they painted the vases they painted them using a black figure technique. The classical period began in the 5th century B.C. during this period they painted vases but they used a red figure technique with a background. The last period was called the Hellenistic period which occurred in 330 B.C. During this period Greek art started to spread to other cultures. They also started to create active and intense sculptures of people.
